March Favorites

march favs

Yay! My first monthly favorites post. I’ve added one non beauty items in as well. I hope you guys don’t mind. Well… on to the good stuff!

nightfilm_tr

This. There are no words for how amazing this book is. Check out more about it here.

photo(9)

This is the bright lipstick I’m loving lately. It’s Maybelline Color Sensational lipstick in Orchid Ecstasy. It’s so nice to throw on when I need a pop of color.

photo(2)

Red Cherry lashes are my favorite this month and have been for a really long time. They fit to my super round, big eyes really well. I really like WSP and 747L the best. (As you probably can tell by this well loved package.)

photo(3)

Ahhh! Simple Pleasures hand cream in Honey Almond gives me life! It smells so yummy I want to eat it.

photo(9)

Dry shampoo is a staple in my life. Tresemme Freshstart is my go to lately. I love the scent (not too overwhelming, like I find with most dry shampoos), and it’s super easy to work in.

photo(10)

Bumble and Bumble is another thing I love to use this time of year. I t gives great beach waves, with minimal effort.

photo(2)

Sephora Waterproof Smoky Cream Liner in Electric Teal. Wow! They weren’t kidding about the waterproof. It’s really kind of hard to take off. Kind of hard to work with, but the color pay off is totally worth it.

photo(3)

Kind of jumped on the band wagon with this one I guess.

photo(2)

L.A. Colors lipstick in Mauve Glaze is my go to for a more neutral lip.

photo(3)

My Anastasia Contour Kit is one thing I use almost daily. Whether I using it to contour, or to create an eye look with it, I love it!

photo(9)

Nars blush in Orgasm. Does this even need an explanation?

photo(2)

This Physicians Formula Nude Wear Glowing Nude Bronzer from my latest haul is amazing as a cheekbone highlighter. A bit too shimmery for a bronzer, but definitely usable in other ways.

photo(9)

Wet n Wild Color Icon single eyeshadow in Brulee is probably used in 80% of my looks. At least. It’s just a great matte, neutral brow bone highlight color.

photo(3)

I hear so much about Too Faced Glitter Glue. But honestly, when I’m using glitter, I reach for my ELF Glitter Primer.

photo(10)

You guys know how much I’ve been loving the new L’oreal Infallible Pro Matte Foundation. You can read the full review here.

photo(11)

NYX HD  eye shadow base is my favorite eye primer. It can’t be beat.

photo(12)

Wet n Wild released the Art in the Streets palette and I fell in love. The ability to reach for just one palette and have access to all of these bright colors is amazing!

Well, guys, that’s it for today. What were some of your favorite things this month? Let me know in the comments. 🙂

See you Thursday with a new post.

Night Time Skin Care Routine — March 26, 2015

Night Time Skin Care Routine

Untitled 6

So, since I already shared my morning skin care routine, I thought I’d share my night time one, too. Like the morning routine, I do rotate some products in and out, but these are the ones that are working for me right now. Let’s jump right in!

photo(9)

First, I remove my eye makeup with a bit of good old baby oil. I have tried tons of eye makeup removers, and they really bother my eyes, so I’ve found sticking with this works best.

photo(9)

Then, I remove most of my makeup with baby wipes. This started one day when my son was just a baby, and I had run out out makeup remover wipes. These are from Walmart, but really any brand will do.

photo 1 photo 2 photo(2)

Then I grab my handy scrubber and my favorite face wash and clean off everything that’s left.

photo(2)

This is my current eye cream. It’s not the best, but it’s okay enough to finish out the tube.

photo(3)

I am totally obsessed with Josie Maran Argan Oil. This goes next, by just smoothing a bit into my skin.

photo(2)

Ehhh. I wanted to love this Ardell Brow and Lash Growth Accelerator. I’m finishing out this tube, because I know it’s one of those things that takes time.

photo(3)

Last, I apply my Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment and get lots of beauty rest. (Well, as much as I can with a five year old any way 🙂  )

See you guys on Saturday with another Disney princess inspired look. (Hint: I promise it won’t be a snooze fest)

Morning Skin Care Routine — March 24, 2015

Morning Skin Care Routine

Untitled

Hey everyone! Today I thought I would share with you my morning skincare routine. It’s super quick and easy, so I try to keep up with it as best as I can, Occasionally, I rotate new products in and out, but these are definitely the ones I always come back to.

First, some quick info on my skin type: In my younger years, I would have said oily. Now I guess it’s more combination, with my dry patches popping up near my nose, especially in the winter.

photo(2)

Clean and Clear Morning Burst Fruit Infusions Purifying Cleanser is my absolute favorite. This one is a citrus scent, but I’ve also tried the raspberry one, and it smells just as amazing!

photo 1 photo 2

This is the tiny little two sided scrubber I use. I will be so sad when it becomes unusable.

photo(3)

Now the moisturizer. If I’m not going to be taking pictures for the blog, this is my go to product. It’s Meaningful Beauty by Cindy Crawford’s Antioxidant Day Creme with a broad spectrum SPF 20.

photo(11)

Nicel Daily Repair vitamin A retinol cream is the moisturizer I use when I do have to shoot for the blog. It feels really light weight on the skin, and sinks in quickly.

photo(3)

Last, I swipe some Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment on!

See you guys Thursday with the evening edition!

I have no relationship with any product or company mentioned in this post.

Mani Monday — March 23, 2015

Mani Monday

photo(6)

Happy Mani Monday! For today, I decided to use those nail wraps I picked up in my mini haul I did a couple of weeks ago.

These wraps are Kiss Nail Dress Ultimate Nail Fashion in Eyelet. They seem to be pretty good at varying in size. This particular package included enough for two manicures, and even included some for your toes (which I did not try).

They were easy enough to apply, but I did have some problems with bubbling. Also, once the package was opened, the wraps don’t seem to want to stick as well later. I’d suggest applying a package when you have a friend with you, that way the remaining wraps aren’t wasted. Maybe putting them in a ziplock bag would help.

All in all, they were a very good deal, and way easier than hand painting such an elaborate design, so they were worth it.

Confessions of a Beauty Blogger — March 19, 2015

Confessions of a Beauty Blogger

I’ve seen this tag floating around, and thought it looked fun, so I decided to give it a try! Let’s jump right in.

1. How many hours a week do you spend planning/ writing/ uploading posts?

Probably about 10-15. It’s kind of hard to calculate though, because I try to plan out posts for the upcoming month, if I can.

2. Are you a spender or a saver?

I try to save if I can, but there’s always a new lippie or eyeshadow or nail polish calling my name…

3. When is it easiest for you to write your posts?

Well, I have a five year old son, so it’s usually easier to get some blogging done either while he’s at school or late at night when he’s sleeping.

4. What makes writing posts comfortable for you/

I’m not really uncomfortable writing them, so I guess just a cup of coffee. 🙂

5. What is your worst makeup/ hair habit?

No buys are constantly broken around me. And I’m not always the best at moisturizing.

6. What’s one quote you wish the world would live by?

“Take pride in your pain; you are stronger than those who have none.” -Lois        Lowry

7. How long do you spend getting ready everyday?

Totally depends. Am I going to the market? Or lunch out? Or a night on the town?

8. What’s your favorite on your blog?

Probably the Little Mermaid post.

9. Who is a beauty blogger that you think deserves more subscribers than they have?

Definitely Apoorva over at That Weird Girl Official. She’s the sweetest!

10. What’s one thing you’re excited about in the coming year?

Shhhhh! Can’t tell you quite yet, but some exciting news will be coming soon!

11. What has been your favorite blogging moment?

Posting for my very first time. That level of nerves/ excitement will never be the same.

12. How long does it take to prep for a post?

Depends on what type of thing I’m posting.

13. Are you wearing jeans/ skirt right now or are you wearing pajama bottoms?

Shorts. It’s like a million degrees here in Florida right now.

Alright guys! I’ll see you Saturday with another Disney princess inspired look!

All About Pilaten Suction Black Mask — March 17, 2015

All About Pilaten Suction Black Mask

photo(2)

I found this amazing product by surfing that black hole of time called Pinterest. It looked pretty cool, so I decided to give it a go. That was two years ago, and I’m hooked!

So, here in the United States, I haven’t found a place that stocks Pilaten, probably since its a Korean product.  I always order in on Amazon, but its extremely cheap, so it works out well.

This mask sinks into your pores, removing blackheads and impurities. It also helps to remove dead skin cells, leaving your face feeling very refreshed.

Two things I need to worn you about:

1. The directions on the package are not in English

photo(3)

2. This is a peel off mask. Some people have told me the experience is unpleasant, however I kind of like the way it feels.

After two years, here is how I use for the best results:

1. Wash your face as usual. Pat dry. Make sure you’re working with a completely dry face.

2. Rub a layer onto your face in desired areas. Sometimes I only use it on my t-zone, other times all over. The layer should be not too thin, not too thick. If it’s too thin, it will be really hard to peel off. If it’s too thick, it will take forever to dry. This part can really take some practice. Also, be careful to avoid your eyebrows, as it can be really painful peeling it out of them.

photo(1)

3. Let dry between 15 and 20 minutes. You should feel it sort of tightening up.

4. Peel off. Quickly. Trust me.

5. Clean of any residue and moisturize.

6. Enjoy your fresh, clean skin. 🙂

See you guys Thursday with a tag post!
