April Favorites

photo 5

I can’t believe it’s time again for monthly favorites. It seems like I just typed up last months favorites post. Anyway, this month I have some makeup, skincare, nail polishes, food and entertainment items for you. Let’s jump in!

photo 1

Amazing Cosmetics Amazing Concealer: Total multi tasker. You can read my full review here.

photo 3 (2)

Wet n Wild Megalength Waterproof Mascara: Definitely waterproof. Great at separating. One of my Top 5 Mascaras. I used this in my Belle look.

photo 5 (3)

Cover Girl Colorlicious Gloss in Plumiliscious: Just got this in the mail. Beautiful sheer color. Don’t expect it to be opaque, but it’s still gorgeous.

photo 1 (3)

City Color All Set Setting Spray with Silica: For $4, this can’t be beat. Helps my makeup hold up through out the day. Full review coming soon.

photo 2

Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief: Loving the gel like formula of this. Moisturizing without that gross greasy feeling after.

photo 3

Clinique Take the Day Off Makeup Remover: I have real issues with makeup removers. They usually make my eyes sting so bad. This one must be somehow different, because it doesn’t.

photo 4

Yu-Be Moisturizing Skin Cream: This stuff has saved my lips the last few weeks. It has a nice minty feeling which is nice too.

photo 1 (2)

Clinique 7 Day Scrub Cream: Exfoliating, rich, creamy. I actually look forward to using this.

photo 2 (3)

Maybelline Color Show Nail Lacquer in Pretty in Peach: The cutest peach shade for Spring.

photo 3 (3)

Rimmel 60 Seconds nail polish in Mintilicious: A really pretty mint green color.

photo 4 (3)

N.Y.C. Long Wearing Nail namel in Skyline Blue: A really beautiful sky blue with a hint of silver shimmer.

photo 4 (2)

Wasabi Peas: The perfect blend of spicy and sweet! Yum!

photo 5 (2)

Trader Joe’s Cilantro Salad Dressing:  I love this stuff. I use it almost daily. I even know a couple of people who don’t like salad, but really enjoy it if you put some of this on it.

Nurse Jackie: Best show ever. So glad it came back this month. If you haven’t seen it, you’re missing out.

Ready Player One by Ernest Cline: This was a re-read for me this month. It’s that good. Full of 80s nostalgia. Definitely check it out.

And that’s it for April. What were you all loving this month?

See you on Saturday with yet another Disney Princess inspired look!

Top 5 Mascaras — April 28, 2015

Top 5 Mascaras

photo 3(2)

Hey guys! I thought today I’d share my top five mascaras with you. Each has something special about it that makes me keep reaching for it.

photo 1(1)

Too Faced Better Than Sex: Just great. Brush is awesome. Took some getting used to this formula and brush, but after the first use, just amazing. Formula is nice and thick for dramatic looking lashes. BTS was even featured in my March Favorites post.

photo 2(1)

Benefit They’re Real: This brush should come with every mascara. The little ball on the end is so good at getting into the corners of your eyes and depositing product on those pesky little tiny lashes that can be hard to get at. See it in my Tinkerbelle post.

photo 3(1)

Wet n Wild Mega Length Waterproof: Non-clumping. Waterproof. Cheap. Great for day to day. You can see it in action in my Belle post.

photo 1(2)

Clinique Lash Doubling: Conical brush which I love. Great for a more natural look. Layers easily without looking spidery. I used it to blend my lashes in my Rapunzel post.

photo 2(2)

Clinique High Impact: For a “no makeup” makeup look. Enough that you have some lashes, but not overly dramatic.

What are your favorite mascaras? Which ones do I absolutely have to try?

See you guys Thursday with my April favorites!

Mani Monday — April 27, 2015

Mani Monday

Happy Mani Monday! Super quick and easy this week.

I used Revlon Colorstay Longwear Nail Enamel in Delicious and L.A. Colors Color Craze nail polish in Live.

The only tools you need are regular tape and a dotting tool (or an old bobby pin).

If you try it, make sure you tag me so I can see!

See you guys tomorrow with a post about my favorite mascaras!

7 Deadly Sins of Beauty — April 21, 2015

7 Deadly Sins of Beauty

I’ve seen this tag floating around for what seems like forever. It looks like fun, so let’s jump right in.

  1. Greed: What is your most inexpensive beauty item? What is your most expensive? I once got these two LA Colors Baby POP! eyeshadows for $.50. For both. Amazing right? Most expensive is probably my Urban Decay Naked 3 palette or My Anastasia Contour Kit.

2. Wrath: What beauty product do you have a love/hate relationship with? My Urban Decay Naked 3 palette. I love most of the shades, but there are a few I really can’t stand working with.

3. Gluttony: What is your most delicious beauty product? Taking it old school on this one: my Chapstick in Pumpkin Pie.

4. Sloth:What beauty product do you neglect, due to laziness? Ummm…. If I’m feeling at all lazy or running late, my first choice to skip is usually liquid liner.

5. Pride: What beauty product gives you the most self confidence? Concealer. It’s definitely important for me to be able to start with as fresh a canvas as possible.

6. Lust: What attributes do you find most attractive in the opposite sex? The ability to laugh at themselves and at life in general.

7. Envy: What items would you like to receive as a gift? Let’s be honest… anything beauty related is always a great gift for me!

I tag any of my readers that wold like to do this tag.

See you all on Thursday with my Top Ten Lip Glosses, Creams and Paints!

Mani Monday — April 20, 2015

Mani Monday

Happy Mani Monday! Just a quick and simple mani this week. Been kind of a crazy week, so had to just do a real quick paint job this week.

I used Color Club Professional Nail Lacquer in On the Rocks to do a french tip. I then put OPI Pirouette My Whistle on top of that. Then I put L.A. Colors Color Craze nail polish in Sparkling Diamonds on he whole nail. Never too much glitter right?

See you guys tomorrow with a new tag post!

Belle Inspired Makeup — April 18, 2015

Belle Inspired Makeup

Continuing on with my Disney Princess series…

This week I choose Belle from Beauty & the Beast as my inspiration. I wanted to work with this Belle (the all dressed up one), instead of normal blue dress and white apron, but only because I had an itch to work with yellow this week.

photo 2

Here is how I achieved this look:

  • Since my skin wasn’t a problem this week, I started out with my Smashbox Camera Ready BB Cream.
  • I then used Amazing Cosmetics Amazing Concealer to combat my dark circles and any redness or discoloration.
  • Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Dark Spot Eraser to highlight under my eyes, my cupid’s bow, the bridge of my nose and the center of my forehead.
  • Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz to clean up and fill in my brows.
  • ABH Contour Kit: Banana to set under my eyes, Vanilla to set the rest of my face, Havana to warm up my complexion just a bit, Fawn to contour my cheekbones, Java to contour my nose and Sand on the bridge of my nose.
  • NYX blush in Pinched on the apples of my cheeks and just ever so slightly swept back.
  • E.L.F. Cosmetics Baked Highlighter in Moonlight Pearl along my cheekbones.

photo 4(1)

  • Revlon Photoready eyeshadow palette in Impressionist: Number 4  shade on brow bone, Number 2 shade as transition, Number 3 shade to deepen crease
  • Clinique Pink Chocolate Quad: Contour shade to deepen outer crease and on lower lash line
  • NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk on lid
  • Wet n Wild Color Icon eyeshadow palette in Art in the Streets: Yellow shade on lid
  • L.A. Colors liquid eyeliner in Brown
  • Wet n Wild Megalength Waterproof Mascara
  • Revlon Precision Dark Lash Adhesive
  • Red Cherry Lashes in WSP

photo 1(1)

  • NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Antwerp
  • Smashbox Lip Enhancing Gloss in Afterglow
