December Favorites

Hey! It’s time again for monthly favorites! Here’s what I’ve been obsessing over this month!

NARS Dolce Vita blush: I seriously cannot stop wearing this! It’s the perfect flattering shade for me during this strangely warm winter. Here’s a swatch:

Violet Voss Glitter in Venus: you know I’m absolutely obsessed with these glitters. You’ll probably see them popping up on my favorites for a long time.
This on is silver with a holographic look. It’s sort of shoots rainbow color when light hits it.
NARS lipstick in Mayflower: my perfect everyday lip. Also feels really smooth  and hydrating when applied.

Here’s a swatch for you.
Beauty Protector Protevt &Detangle: this smells so yummy!!! It’s also rehydrates and  detangles perfectly.

Simon: if you’re old like me you totally remember this. I picked one up at a local electronics store and cannot stop playing it!

3rd Rock From the Song: totally binge worthy. I forgot how funny this was.
Childhood’s End: this was surprisingly good considering it as in Syfy. I was super sad to see it end.

My Aidan opening his Christmas gifts: of course this was my favorite moment!

Incarceron by Catherine Fisher: couldn’t put this book down! Great read!

Biscoff: all I can say is Yummy!!! Try them! Right now!
Deco Miami Nail Lacquer in Nip Slip: super cute packaging! Look at it!!!
Here is the bottle.
Here’s what it look like on!
And Then There Were None: this was a favorite book of mine growing up, so when I saw there was a mini series, I got super excited! It ended up being very good!
And that’s all this month! I’ll see you Saturday with a Face of the Day post! 💋

Product Review: NARS x Steven Klein One Shocking Moment Cheek Studio Palette — December 29, 2015

Product Review: NARS x Steven Klein One Shocking Moment Cheek Studio Palette

I was lucky enough to receive the NARS Steven Klein One Shocking Moment Cheek Studio Palette this year for my birthday! (Thanks Momma! 😘😘) I thought I’d share some swatches and my thoughts on it with you here.

Here’s what the palette looks like itself. Super cute, right? It’s very sturdy and I love the photo they chose for the front.

When I opened it up, the first thing I noticed was the huge mirror. I feel like usually palettes either don’t have one at all, or its tiny, or its an awkward shape. This one allows you to see your whole face at once. There’s also one of this little plastic covers explaining what each thing in the palette is if you need it.

  Here’s a close up of what’s included.
Top row left to right: Paloma contour and highlight powder, Laguna bronzing powder

Bottom row left to right: Blushes in Robotic, Blasphemy, Luster and Dolce Vita

Here’s Paloma and Laguna swatches left to right.

Here’s the blush swatches. Left to right: Robotic, Blasphemy, Luster and Dolce Vita.

Honesty, I’m obsessed with Paloma and Dolce Vita. I cannot stop wearing either one.

That’s all for today! I’ll see you Thursday with my December favorites! 💋
This is not a sponsored post. The palette was a present from my very own mother, however. I was not compensated for this post. As always, any opinions stated within this post are my own.

Mani Monday — December 28, 2015

Mani Monday

Happy Mani Monday!
Here’s what I threw together for you this week step by step:

I started with two coats of Sinful Shine with Gel Tech in Shining Couture. This is a super sheer, shimmery blue with teal undertones.

I then used LA Colors Art Deco Striper in Gold Glitter to add three vertical lines to each nail.

I then used the same thing to add diagonal lines between the ones already there.

Finally, I finished it off with two coats of Sinful Shine Top Coat
I’ll see you tomorrow with a closer look at another NARS x Stephen Klein product! 💋

This is not a sponsored post. I recieved no compensation for this post. I did receive both Sinful polishes for reviewing purposes. As always, any opinions stated in the above post are my own.

Face of the Day: New Years Eve Edition 2015 — December 26, 2015

Face of the Day: New Years Eve Edition 2015

Hey! I thought it was time to do a really dramatic look for New Years Eve. I mean, what better than to go over the top then while you’re bringing in the New Year, right?

Because this look has so much going on in the eye area, I started with that part today. It’s much easier to fight the dreaded fall out this way.

Here’s how I accomplished the look:

I started with Stila single eyeshadow in Puppy. I swept this from lash line to brow. Basically, I ised it as a base so everything else would be easier to blend.

Then I took NYC single eyeshadow in In Vogue and applied it to my crease and smoked it way out. I also added some to my lower lash line.

Then I applied some ELF Cosmetics Glitter Primer to my eyelids. Then a basically threw some Violet Voss glitter in Venus on top of that.

To even out my complexion and hide some things, I used Dermablend Professional Cover Creme in Natural Beige.

I filled in and shaped my brows using Anastasis Beverly Hills Dipborw Pomade in Medium Brown. I also added a tiny bit of Wet n Wild Color Icon single eyeshadow in Brûlée to my brow bone and swept some L’Oreal Telescopic mascara along my lashes.

I added some Nars Laguna to warm up my complexion a bit and some Nars Robotic as blush.

Lastly, I added some Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Ready to Wear Lip Tar in Pagan to my lips.

I’ll see you for Mani Monday! 💋
This is not a sponsored post. I wasn’t compensated in any way for it. As always, any opinions stated within this post belong to me.

Nars Steven Klein Killer Heels Lipstick Coffret — December 24, 2015

Nars Steven Klein Killer Heels Lipstick Coffret

Hey! I was so, so , so excited to receive the new NARS Steven Klein Killer Heels Lipstick Coffret from my mom for my birthday this year! Thanks, Momma! 😘😘

Here is what it looks like when you first open the package. Five of the cutest tiny little lipsticks you ever did see, huh?

Here is the colors you get:

  • Little Darling
  • Mayflower
  • Joyous Red
  • Jungle Red
  • Fire Down Below

Here the are swatches top to bottom.

Little Darling is a really sheer nude like color. Don’t expect tons of pigmentation here, but great when you just need something to throw on. More for a no makeup makeup look.

Mayflower is the perfect everyday color! It’s probably my favorite of the bunch. It’s a very natural looking lip color.

Joyous Red is actually more of a brown tinted red. Think more Kylie than Marilyn.

Jungle Red is that classic old Hollywood red. Perfect for a glam look.

Fire Down Below is a more deep, fall red. I’ll probably be rocking this a lot this season!

I’ll see you mom Saturday for a Face of the Day post! 💋

This is not a sponsored post. I received no compensation for this post.  I did receive this as a birthday gift, so I guess you could say it was partially sponsored by my very own mom!

Updated: Favorite Hair Care Products — December 22, 2015

Updated: Favorite Hair Care Products

Hey! So I thought I’d do an updated version of my favorite hair products. I’m constantly trying to find new and exciting things to love. These are what I’m loving these days!

Davines Oi Absolute Beautifying Shampoo: I’ll be honest here. The thing I love the most about this is the smell. There’s not even a way to describe it. It’s also really hydrating. Sometimes if I’m in a hurry, I’ll even skip conditioner when I use this. Shhh! Don’t tell!

Aveda Color Conserve Conditioner: Yes, I color my hair. Yes, I feel like this helps it not fade. At least as much as anything with a red tone won’t, anyway. Shh! A girl has some grays to cover okay?

Miss Jessie’s Pillow Soft Curls Styling Lotion: This is what I use on those rare occasions when I wear my hair in my natural curls. This is a touchable hold, not a crunchy mess. Because nothing is better than having your hair played with right?

12 Benefits: I use this as my heat protectant when I flat iron my hair. I don’t really know if the other 11 things it claims to do actually work, but a girl can dream.

Obliphica Sea Berry Hair Serum: a non oily serum. I use this after styling on the ends. This lets me get further between trims, as it helps hide any unsightly split ends.

Shea Moisture Manuka Hiney and Mafura Oil Intensive Hydration Masque: Of course, with all the coloring and heat I use in my hair, I need some intense hydration from time to time. This does the trick. Doesn’t leave my hair feeling weighed down either.

Living Proof Perfect Hair Day Dry Shampoo: Leaves my hair feeling actually clean. Not like some dry shampoos that can leave grit behind. Now for my most embarrassing hair secret: I can got 7 to 9 days between washes using this!

Beauty Protector Protect and Detangle: this is the only thing that lets me brush my hair. It totally hydrates and detangles. Let’s be honest though, I first only bought this because of the smell. It smells like pink sugar!

And that’s all! What hair products are you using that I should try?

This is not a sponsored post. I did receive the Living Proof Dry Shampoo as employee gratis. This in no way affects my opinion. As always, all opinions are my own.

Mani Monday: Holiday Edition  — December 21, 2015

Mani Monday: Holiday Edition

Happy Mani Monday! This week I still wanted to have a holiday-ish theme, but make it easy enough that anyone could do it quickly. I do realize not everyone wants to spend 30 minutes painting their nails.

First, I started off by using Sinful Colors Nail Polish in Holiday Rebel to just paint the tips of my nails.

The you do another coat, taking it up about halfway each nail this time.

Lastly, you do another coat, taking it about three quarters o the way up this time. Then just finish with a top coat.

I’ll see you tomorrow with a new post! 💋

Face of the Day — December 19, 2015

Face of the Day

Hey! I realized I hadn’t used this glitter eyeliner in forever, and decided to do a festive holiday look using it. Here’s what I did to create this look.

I started by prepping my face with Dr. Brandt Pores No More Pore Refining Primer.

I used Maybelline Fit Me Foundation (in shade 130, if you’re curious) to help even out my skin tone. I highlighted under my eyes, the center of my forehead and down the bridge of my nose, using LA Girl Pro Conceal HD Concealer (in shade Natural).

I used the tiniest amount of Too Faced Chocolate Soleil to contour my nose a bit. For color, I used some Cargo Water Resistant Blush in Los Cabos. Then, to set everything and blend it all together, I swept some ELF Translucent Mattifying Powder all over.

As usual, I used Anastasia Brow Wiz in Dark Brown to shape and fill in my brows.

I used my favorite drugstore single shadows by Wet n Wild next. I started with Brûlée on my brow bones and eyelids. I used Nutty as a transition shade. I deepened up the crease, mostly on the outer parts, with Panther. I also swept some along my lower lash line. For liner I used NYX Crystal Liner in Gold Crystal to add a wing.  I finished off the eyes with Wet n Wild Megalength Waterproof mascara.

I swept some JCat Wonder Lip Paint in Red Potion on my lips to finish it all off.

I’ll see you for Mani Monday! 💋

December Birchbox Unboxing  — December 17, 2015

December Birchbox Unboxing

Hey! So my December Birchbox arrived a couple of days ago, so here we go…

As you can see, the box is the holiday box still, with light blue tissue, and winter themed cards this month.

Here what the little info card says this month.

You also get a voucher for $10 off. I believe this was for use on a $35 or more purchase. I already got rid of mine, though.

The first product I got was Serge Normant Dream Big Instant Volumizing Spray. I have previously used this, and its probably my second favorite product for volume.

This took me by surprise. First of all, I received a full size one.  Second, I am obsessive over highlighters! This one is The Beauty Crop Lighting Crew Highlighting Cream.  Here’s a bit of a swatch for you:

Okay, okay. I wasn’t to excited over this one. I mean, I use hand cream, as we all should, but I find it a pretty boring product. This one is Soap and Paper Factory Shea Butter Hand Cream in Green Tea. Packaging is cute, smells good.

Next I recieved Beauty Protector Protect and Oil. I wanted to love this product. However, the way the packaging is (without a spout or nozzle, just a capped glass bottle), it would be difficult for me to use without making a huge mess. Trust me, I’m super clumsy.

Lastly, I recieved the Coastal Scents StyleEYES Eye Shadow Palette. This was surprising. I had chosen the Volumizing spray as my sample choice, so I didn’t think I would receive this.

This was the color duo that I recieved.

Here are some swatches:

Pretty, right?

That’s all for today. I’ll see you Saturday with a Face of the Day post! 💋
This is not a sponsored post. Although I am a Birchbox employee, I pay full price out of pocket for my subscription. As always, all opinions stated in above post are my own.

Let’s Talk Trestique  — December 15, 2015

Let’s Talk Trestique

Hey! So today we’re going to look at a new-ish product in the market, Trestique.

First we have the Moisture and Blend Tinted Face Stick. These are super cranky, with very light coverage. They also supposed stand up to the heat and humidity of Hawaii.

One unique thing about this brand is the tools on the ends. Each product has a tool or different product to help you achieve the look you want. These pieces are also sold separately, so if you need to replace them you can. The Moisture and Blend Tinted Face Stick comes with a sponge tool on the end.

Swatches left to right: Cape Cod Stone, Paradise Island Beige, Tulum Nude, Tenerife Natural, Waikiki Tan

These are the Color and Contour Blush Sticks. The most disappointing part I think is that they only come in two shades. I don’t know about you, but I would get bored really quickly with only two blush shades.

The blushes come with an angled brush in the end, making them super easy to apply.

Swatches left to right: St. Barth’s Pink, Bora Bora Coral

These are the Color and Smudge Shadow Crayons. These are great! The blend super easily, as long as you do it quickly. Other than that, they are pretty much staying put.

On the end of these is a super tiny sponge tip. You cannot be very aggressive when using these, or it will sort of “eat” all the color. But if you use it to lightly smudge, it works great.
Swatches left to right: Venetian Gold, Aspen Pine, Kona Coffee, Marimoto Pink Pearl

Now we have the Correct and Cover Concealwr Crayons. These are nice for spot concealing, but I wouldn’t use them in the under eye area.

They also have the tiny sponge tip in the bottom.

Swatches left to right: Porcelain, Bisque, Toffee

Now for the best part: the Matte Color and Shiny Balm Lip Crayon. Whew! What a mouthful!

So, while the actual product itself is a matte finish, each color comes with a matching balm on the end, instead of a tool. I like the idea that you can have each shade in either it’s matte or shiny counterpart.

Swatches left to right: Nantucket Nude, Nanmos Pink, Barcelona Bright Berry, Chile Red, Belize Bordeaux, Florence Fig
And that’s all for today! Let me know if you’ve tried any Trestique. I’ll see you tomorrow an unboxing post! 💋

This is not a sponsored post. As always, all opinions are my own.
