Face of the Day — January 30, 2016

Face of the Day

Hi! Today I worked with the Ciate Olivia Palermo Smokey Suedes palette again. Here’s how I achieved the look.

I started by using Dermablend Professional Cover Creme in Natural Beige to even out my skin tone.

I then used NARS Paloma to sculpt my face a bit. I also used NARS Laguna to bronze my face a bit, and NARS Blasphemy to add some color to my cheeks.

I added a bit of a highlight using Becca Champagne Pop.

I filled in and shaped my brows using Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade in Medium Brown.

I prepped my eyelids using Beauty by Piret Eyesilk in Naked.

Now for the Ciate Olivia Palermo palette. I used Macchiato as a transition shade

I deepened up the crease using Whoopie Pie.

Here I’ve added the green shade to my lid using Verde.

Now for a pop of highlight to the center of my lid using Shaken just in the center.

Just highlighted my brow bone using Butler.

Now I’ve finished up my eye look using Glazed on my lower lash line and Prosecco on my inner lower lash line.

I then completed the look using L’Oreal Telescopic mascara and Clinique lipstick in Chianti.

I’ll see you for Mani Monday! ūüíč

January 2016 Favorites — January 28, 2016

January 2016 Favorites

Hey! It’s time to stare all the things I’ve been obsessing over this past month.

Favorite moment: my little sister visited! I think I might have ran her ragged, but we had a great time. She got to experience the city like a real New Yorker, and got to visit some places she was super excited to see, like Carrie Bradshaw’s stoop!

What I wished I could eat every day: Shake Shack. There are no words to describe how yummy this is. Totally worth the crazy line I waited in to get it.

The show I was most excited to see return: Shameless. Hands down. One of my all time favorites.

Favorite New Show: The Shannara Chronicles. Weird. In a good way. Just imagine: elves, trolls, a magical tree, demons… It’s kind of crazy.

What I wanted to use on my eyes every day: Morphe 35O. Hands down. Look at all that warm goodness.

The skincare item I fell in love with: Que Bella Clarifying Cucumber Peel Off Mask. Smells amazing. Left my skin feeling super clean and soft.

Lip product I didn’t want to live without: Mirenesse Mattfinity Lip Rouge in London. Creamy, long lasting, beautiful color. Here’s a swatch for you:

Gorgeous winter nail color: Deco Miami Tied Down. I mean, just look at it.

Coolest thing I’ve seen lately: these weird 3D heads you can order to look just like you for Legos. I think I’ll be order some for my Aidan’s birthday this year.

And that’s all for today! I’ll see you Saturday with a Face of the Day post! ūüíč
This is not a sponsored post. I was sent the nail polish for fre. This in no way affects my opinion. As always, any opinions stated in above post are my own.

January Haul — January 26, 2016

January Haul

Hey! So I have a pretty big haul for you this month. I did pretty well at an after Christmas sale, and had some birthday gift cards given to me.

Morphe 35O palette: This I was lucky enough to be gifted by my sister while she was in town! I’ve been wanting it for what seems like forever.

LA Colors Color Craze Hey Stud DIY Nail Design Kit: I haven’t had a chance to play with this yet, but I’m looking forward to it.

LA Colors Color Craze nail polish with Hardeners in Fancy Pants: You know your girl can’t pass on a new glitter, right?

Kleanista Creme Color lipstick in Cast of Spell: This was something I tossed in an online shopping cart to bump my total up for free shipping. Here’s a swatch:

Not sure what I’ll do with it yet, but it was an interesting enough color to grab.

NYC Long Wearing Nail Enamel in Pink Bling: like I said, I can’t pass up a new glitter.

Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Xtreme Wear nail color in Bold Gold: at least this ones a little more tame with just the classic black and gold glitter.

Que Bella Softening Orange Blossom Mud Mask: a new brand for me. Thought it was worth trying. There are a ton of these coming next, so I’ll just give the types instead of anything else for each.

Que Bella Clarifying Cucumber Peel Off Mask

Que Bella Purifying Tea Tree & Witch Hazel Mud Mask

Que Bella Replenishing Dead Sea Mud Mask

Que Bella Toning Blueberry Peel Off Mask

Que Bella Reviving Pink Grapefruit Peel Off Mask

L’oreal 24HR Infallible eye shadow in Endleas Sea: I thought this was a great color to add to my collection.  Here’s a swatch:

NYC Smooth Skin Loose Face Powder: this was a repurchase for me. I’ve used it before, and it works just fine.

Coastal Scents Glamour Eyes palette: some fun colors and some usual neutrals

Coastal Scents Formal Eyes palette: beautiful rose gold tones

Coastal Scents Social Eyes palette: more of the smokey eye look

And that’s it! I’ll see you Thursday with my January Favorites!

Face of the Day — January 16, 2016

Face of the Day

Hey! I finally got my hands on the Morphe 35O palette (thanks to my baby sister Megan!!!) and decided to play with it a little! Here’s what I came up with for you:

I started by prepping my face with Laura Geller Spackle Under Makeup Primer in Neutralizer. I followed that with Clinique City Stick in Buffed. I concealed user my eyes using LA Girl Pro Conceal HD Concealer in Natural. I added a subtle cheekbone highlight using Temptu Highlighter in Champagne Shimmer. I set all that using NYC Smooth Skin Loose Face Powder. For bronzer I used NARS Laguna. For some cheek color, I used Clinique Princess Livia duo powder blush in Gentle Rose. I then filled in my brows using a combination of Anastasia Brow Wiz in Medium Brown and Dipbrow Pomade in Medium Brown.

Now onto the eyes! If you think of the Morphe 35O palette as having columns labeled with letters and rows labeled with numbers, that’s how I will let you know he exact shades I used.

Here I used D2 as a transition shade.

Here I added some G2 sort of between the transition shade and where my crease shade will be.

Here I’ve deepened up the crease a bit using D3.

Then I added some B1 to my brow bone and a mixture of B2 and C2 to my lids.

I then added a pop of orange to my tear duct area using G1.

Next, I ran some A4 to my lower lash line.

Because I apparently have a glitter obsession, I also decided I need a little in this look. I started by added some ELF Glitter Primer to the center of my lower lash line only. I then tapped a little Violet Voss Glitter in Hella Amazing on top of that.

I finished off the look with some Wet n Wild lipstick in Cinnamon Spice and some Chanel Le Volume de Chanel mascara.

I’ll see you Monday for Mani Monday!
This is not a sponsored post. The Morphe palette was gifted to me by my sister Megan, but I was not compensated in any way. As always, any opinions stated in above post are my own.

Birchbox Unboxing — January 14, 2016

Birchbox Unboxing

Hey! It’s time for a Birchbox unboxing! First off, how cute is this box? (Like always, right?) I like what it says on the lid.

Here’s what I opened the box up to.

Since it came with those cute stickers, I chose to place the creativity on on my box. It now reads: 2016:The Year of Creativity.

The first thing in my box is Amika Perk Up Dry Shampoo. If you’re familiar with this product, you’ll know how happy I am to receive it.

Next I got a mini Real Chemistry Luminous 3-Minute Peel. Okay. If you’ve been reading my blog for very long, you’ll know how obsessed with this I am. At work they laugh at how passionate I am about it. Seriously, this is my desert island skin care item.

I also recieved some Whish Body Butter in Lavender. It’s super hydrating and also smells heavenly.

Yes! I love getting new primers. I’ve been especially curious about this IPKN Flash Cream Radiant Primer, since I have already tried their mattifying version. I’m also pretty curious to see how this will react in my oily skin.

The last item I got was an Eyeko Fat Liquid Eyeliner. This probably arrived just in time. I’ve not been wearing liquid liner very much and had just been considering working it back in to my routine.

I’ll see you Saturday with a Face of the Day post, with a special guest appearance! ūüíč
