Face of the Day Friday

Hey guys! I was having fun playing with color this week, and figured I’d share the results with you!

I started by waking my under eye area up with The Ordinary Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG. I also ran some Smack Beauty Bat Those Lashes Volumizing Lash Serum along my upper lash line. I sprayed my face with some Skindinavia Primer Spray and patted some Unicorn Oil Illuminating Glow Elixir in Moon Beam on. I prepped my lips with Grande Lips Hydrating Lip Plumper in Barely There.

To even out my complexion, I used a Morphe M439 Brush to buff on some of The Ordinary Colours Coverage Foundation in 1.2 YG. To correct some under eye circles, I applied some LA Girl Cosmetics Pro Conceal HD Concealer in Light Yellow Corrector and blended that with a Real Techniques Deluxe Crease Brush.

To add some definition, I used an e.l.f. Cosmetics Contouring Brush and the darker side of a NYX Professional Makeup Wonder Stick in Universal to cream contour. I also used a Morphe G37 and the lighter side of the stick to highlight.

For some color, I used to fingers to pat some Tata Harper Volumizing Lip and Cheek Tint in Very Charming onto my cheeks. I also used my fingers to add some NYX Professional Makeup Born to Glow Liquid Illuminator in Sunbeam.

To set everything, I used a Morphe M530 to dust some Ben Nye Translucent Powder in Pretty Pink all over. To deepen the contour, I used a Morphe R41 Brush and an e.l.f. Cosmetics Professional Powder Brush to put on some Palladio Matte Bronzer in Teeny Bikini.

Using a Morphe E9 Brush, I packed some Ben Nye Luxury Powder in Buff onto the highlighted areas. After a few moments, I swept off the excess powder with a Morphe M501 Brush. This time for some color, I used a Japonesque Multi Tasker Brush to add some Frankie Rose Cosmetics Blush in Romantica.

Now for my favorite part! GLITTER!!!!

I used my fingers to pat some Lavender Stardust Aloe Vera Glitter Gel in Saturn onto my cheekbones and down the bridge of my nose. Just look!

Pretty, right?

Now for brows. I used some By Nanda Long Lasting Coloring Eyebrow in 05 to fill them in and shape them. I set them as usual with some Model in a Bottle Long Lasting Eyebrow Sealer. To clean up the edges, I grabbed a Morphe M508 Brush and some Dermablend Professional Cover Creme in Natural Beige.

Now on to the BH Cosmetics Zodiac 25 Color Eyeshadow and Highlighter Palette. To start, I used a Morphe M505 Brush to apply the matte Aquarius shade as a transition color. I then used a Real Techniques Domed Shadow Brush to add some of the matte Gemini color into my crease. To deepen the crease, I used a Real Techniques Base Shadow Brush to add some of the matte Cancer shade, which I also added to my lower lash line.

To prep my eyelids for the next step, I used a Morphe E32 Brush to pat on some NYX Professional Makeup Glitter Primer. I followed that with some NYX Professional Makeup Face and Body Glitter in Violet, using a Morphe E14 Brush.

I added some Palladio Herbal Precision Eyeliner in White Out to my waterline. I also added a couple coats of Lancôme Mon Sieur Big Mascara.

For my lips today, I first applied some J Cat Wonder Lip Paint in Mad Splatter. I then added a little NYX Professional Makeup Duo Chromatic Shimmer Lip Gloss in Crushing It.

Finally I finished off the look by tossing on on some Ardell Mega Volume Lashes in 251 with some Duo Brush-On Adhesive with Vitamins.

What did you all come up with this week? Anything exciting?

Face of the Day Friday — September 21, 2018

Face of the Day Friday

Hey guys! I’ve been feeling the need for some warm colors lately, and this is the look I created when playing around.

I started by waking my under eye area up with The Ordinary Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG. I ran some Smack Beauty Bat Those Lashes Volumizing Lash Serum along my upper lash line. I prepped my face with The Ordinary High-Spreadability Fluid Primer and my lips with Lip Smart Hydrating Solution.

I mixed some Farsali Unicorn Essence Skin Enhancing Antioxidant Serum with my NYX Professional Makeup Total Control Drop Foundation in Natural, since I didn’t really want a lot of coverage, but just a bit of something to even out my skin tone. I used a dampened Beauty Blender to pat it into my skin.

To correct my under eye circles, I applied a little LA Girl Cosmetics Pro Conceal HD Concealer in Light Yellow Corrector. I used another dampened Beauty Blender to blend that in.

For some definition, I grabbed a NYX Professional Makeup Sculpt and Highlight Face Duo in Taupe/Ivory. I used the darker end to contour and the lighter end to highlight. I then blended again, with a dampened Beauty Blender. I did something a little different for my nose, though. I used a NYX Professional Makeup Micro-Contour Duo Pencil in Light and used my finger to blend it.

For a little color, I dabbed some Peripera Cushion Blusher in Pleased Pink on the apples of my cheeks. I also added some glow to my cheekbones and to the bridge of my nose with Temptu S/B Highlighter in Champagne Shimmer.

To set everything, I used a Morphe G5 Brush to sweep some RCMA No-Color Powder all over. To deepen the definition and darken up the contour, I used a Morphe R41 Brush and a Morphe R9 Brush to apply some Palladio Matte Bronzer in Teeny Bikini.

To set the highlighted areas, I used a Vera Mona Cake and Bake Makeup Sponge to dab on some Ben Nye Luxury Powder in Buff. After a few minutes, I dusted off the excess powder with a Morphe M500 Brush.

Now to add more flush of color to my cheeks. I used a Sigma F40 to sweep on some Maybelline Pure Blush in Pure Raisin. I blended that a bit with a Morphe E56 Brush.

We all want to glow! So for even more, I used a Morphe M310 Brush to sweep some Artist Couture Diamond Glow Powder in Gold Digger along my cheekbones and down the bridge of my nose.

For my brows today, I used a Sigma E75 brush and some NYX Professional Makeup Eyebrow Cake Powder in Dark Brown to film them in and shape them. I sealed that with some Model in a Bottle Long Lasting Eyebrow Sealer, and cleaned up the edges using a Morphe M508 Brush and some Dermablend Professional Cover Creme in Natural Beige.

Next I grabbed my Morphe 35R Eyeshadow Palette. For a transition shade, I used a Sigma E40 Brush to dust on some of the color in the third column, second row.

I then used a Morphe E22 Brush to work some of the first column, third row color into my crease and along my lower lash line.

Then, I used a Morphe R39 Brush to deepen the crease some more with the color in the third column, fourth row.

Along my lower lash line again, I ran some of the color from the second column, fourth row using a Sigma E30 Brush.

I used an e.l.f. Cosmetics Professional Eyeshadow Brush to apply some of the color from the seventh column, third row to my inner and outer eyelids.

Using a Morphe E32 Brush, I patted some Beauty by Piret Eyesilk in Sunset onto the center of my eyelids. Right over that, I used Morphe E14 Brush to add some NYX Professional Makeup Pigment in Brighten Up.

I added a bit of a wing with a Glamazon Flawless Gel Liner Pen and a couple coats of Velvet 59 My Fair Lashes Mascara.

For my lips today, I used Nudestix Magnetic Matte Lip Color in Vino.

To finish off the look I through on some Kara Eyelashes in 747L with a little Duo Brush on Adhesive with Vitamins.

And that’s all for today! Any looks you guys would like to see for Halloween or fall? Let me know!

Thursday Thoughts: Beauty Trash — September 20, 2018

Thursday Thoughts: Beauty Trash

Hi guys! Yep! It’s that time again. As I’ve been going through a lot of my beauty products lately, I’ve decided to go on a no buy. This means I’ll be using up the zillions of products I already have. And trust me, there’s a ton! Here’s what I’ve used up since the last Beauty Trash post:

Philip B Icelandic Blonde Deep Conditioner: this was awesome! I used it right after my last bleaching. The grape seed and plum make it smell amazing too! It’s on the pricier side, but the ingredients are on a whole other level than the drug store stuff.

Murad Hydro-Dynamic Quenching Essence: this is very light weight. Almost like a serum like texture. Very nice if you’ve got oily skin like me.

Inglot YSM Cream Foundation in 43: this one actually made me sad. I love this foundation. Especially for going out, or when I need a little extra coverage.

Dr. Bronner’s Organic Virgin Coconut Oil: basically I use coconut as a makeup remover. It breaks down absolutely everything.

Younique Mineral Touch Liquid Foundation in Satin: This is really good coverage. Worth is if you have a need for full coverage.

Smack Beauty Detox to Relax Charcoal Detoxifying Face Mask: I loved this. It defined my skin without drying it out. Which is a hard balance to find.

Oribe Supershine Moisturizing Cream: this summer I’ve been really trying to keep my hair away from heated styling tools. So I’ve been scrunching this into my hair and learning to love my natural texture, or raking it through before throwing in some braids.

LuLuLun 7 Days Sheet Masks: nice. Just kind of overall moisturizing. Didn’t notice much of a huge difference in my skin.

Swan Nail Polish Remover: well, this one should be self explanatory.

COSRX Acne Pimple Master Patch: un-be-liev-able! These are ah-mazing!!! Run out and get some! Right now!

Keratin Complex Keratin Replenisher: I cannot even begin to explain how soft and healthy this makes my hair feel. It may be one if the best products I’ve ever used.

Avatara Shape Up Face Mask: this felt nice on. Can’t say I noticed any improvement in the elasticity of my skin though.

Karuna Hydrating+ Face Mask: this did absolutely leave my skin feeling refreshed and even hydrated, without leaving it oily or greasy. I loved it.

Karuna Renewal+ Eye Mask: this is the highest selling item made by Karuna. Maybe I just don’t get it. I’ve used other under eye patches that I liked much better.

Free Your Mane Daily Detangling Conditioner: I grabbed this when I found it on sale just to use to dilute hair dye. But I really did enjoy the smell.

L’Oréal 30 Volume Oreor Creme Developer: obviously this is to dye and/or bleach my hair. I’m not sure why this is the brand I gravitated to when I got serious and began doing my own hair, but this is pretty much all I use.

Jane Carter Solution Curls to Go Shine On Curl Elixir: ehhhh. Not really sure I saw any added shine when using this. I did get annoyed because I had to learn to use it closer to wash day, as it tended to leave my hair feeling more oily than shiny. On the plus side, it did smell good.

Dream Water + Beauty 0-Calorie Beauty Sleep Shot: I’ve talked about these before, but for anyone that’s new, these work for sleep. At $4 a bottle though, and the fact that you need to use them every night for at least a week to see the other benefits, I’m just not sure it’s worth it.

Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum: now, I’ll admit, I use a lot of skincare. And I rotate between products a ton. But I’m really not sure I saw a difference in the radiance if my skin when using it. It did feel soothing when applying, though.

Wella Color Charm Permanent Liquid Hair Toner in T18: I mix this box with the next product to tone my hair after bleaching.

Wella Color Charm Permanent Liquid Hair Toner in T14: like I said. I mix this with T18 when toning my hair after bleaching. The combo gives me the color I’m looking for.

China Glaze Nail Lacquer with Hardeners in Point Me to the Party: I adore this nail polish! Super sad to discovered it had started drying up and getting clumpy.

Jane Carter Solution Curls to Go Mist Me Over Curl Hydrator: I used this to refresh my waves the next day. Getting some moisture and definition in the without having to start all over with wet hair.

The Mane Choice Manetabolism Plus Healthy Hair Vitamins: usually I use Hairfinity, bit I wanted to give these a try. I don’t think they worked quite as well, but they did work okay.

Ricky’s NYC Rickycare Disposable Mascara Wands: I apply my homemade lash oil with these, so they are a must! Although, I guess most any brand would do.

Smack Beauty Full Speed Ahead Quick Lift Serum with Retinol: I liked this. Didn’t overly dry out my skin, like a lot of retinol formulas do. Because this girl does go overboard on the retinol products sometimes.

Thayers Witch Hazel Aloe Vera Formula Alcohol-Free Cucumber Toner: this is my toner of choice these days. Keeps my pH balanced without drying my skin out.

Diane by Fromm Powder-Free Vinyl Gloves: just for coloring and bleaching my hair. These don’t rip easily. I like them.

Jean Pierre Cucumber Makeup Remover Wipes: these have been my go to wipes for a little while. I’m not a huge fan of wipes. I’m way too into my skincare routine to just do a wipe and be done. But I like these for just a quick cleanup when I’m not wearing makeup or in the morning when I’m in a rush to get the kiddo to school. I always follow it up later with something else though.

bare Minerals Skinlongevity Vital Power Infusion: this was just a mess. Not my favorite. At all.

Anyway, that’s all for now! What did you love that you used up recently?

Face of the Day Friday

Hey guys! Bringing you a little bit of sultry smoke today!

I started out by waking my under eye area up with The Ordinary Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG. I also swept some Smack Beauty Bat Those Lashes Volumizing Lash Serum along my upper lash line to help keep up my lash growth. I patted some Farsali Rose Gold Elixir into my skin, to help achieve a look of glowy, hydrated skin. I also put in some NYX Professional Makeup Pore Filler, because, well, pores. To prep my lips, I put on some Korres Pomegranate Lip Butter.

To even out my complexion, I applied some L’Oréal Infallible Pro Matte Foundation in Natural Buff, blending it in with a Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge.

For some dimension, I cream contoured with some LA Girl Cosmetics Pro Conceal HD Concealer in Warm Sand, again blending with a Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge.

To correct some of my under eye circles, I used some LA Girl Cosmetics Pro Conceal HD Concealer in Light Yellow Corrector. I blended that again with a Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge.

To highlight the high points of my face, I applied some Palladio Under Eyes Disguise Full Coverage Concealer in Vanilla Latte, and blended (for the last time, I promise) with a Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge.

For some nice glow, I used my fingers to lay some Sephora Radiant Luminizing Drop in Starlight onto my cheekbones and down the bridge of my nose.

Now to set that stuff. I used a Morphe E41 Brush to dust on some RCMA No Color Powder. I also went over the contoured areas with some Palladio Matte Bronzer in No Tan Lines, using both a Morphe Y22 Brush and a Japonesque Kumadori Blending Brush.

For the highlighted areas, I used a Vera Mona Cake and Bake Makeup Sponge to pat on some Ben Nye Luxury Powder in Buff. After a few minutes, I dusted off the excess with a Morphe E52 Brush.

To fake a flush, I used a Sigma F15 Brush to sweep some Jouer Powder Blush in Peony along my cheeks. I blended that out with a Real Techniques Multi Task Brush.

Because you know I love some glow, I used a Morphe M501 Brush to sweep some Artist Couture Diamond Glow Powder in Supernova along my cheekbones and down the bridge of my nose. I also used my fingers to dab some Lavender Stardust Aloe Vera Glitter Gel in Heaven right on top of that.

To fill in and shape my brows, I grabbed an LA Girl Cosmetics 207 Brush and applies some Inglot AMC Brow Liner Gel in 17. I then brushed on some Model in a Bottle Long Lasting Eyebrow Sealer with a Morphe M115 Brush. To clean up the edges, I used a Morphe M508 Brush and a tiny little bit of Dermablend Professional Cover Creme in Natural Beige.

For the eyes, I started with the Dior Eyeshadow Palette in Undress. I used a Morphe M330 Brush to apply the middle color as a transition shade. I used a Morphe E17 Brush to add some depth to the crease with the bottom right color. I used a Morphe G18 Brush to deepen that even more with the bottom left color. I also added some to the outer half of my eyelids and along my lower lash line.

Next, I used a Younique Cream Shadow Brush to add some Jouer Creme Eyeshadow in Organza to the inner half of my eyelids. I then used a Morphe E14 Brush to pack some NYX Professional Makeup Pigment in Diamond on top of that.

I sprayed my face with Model in a Bottle Makeup Setting Spray, swept on some Estée Lauder High Gloss Lipgloss in Rose, and finished off the look with a couple coats of Lancôme Mon Sieur Big Mascara.

I’ll see you all soon!
